This was the view on the morning of 7/3/2015 after a night camping in Mojave National Preserve near the Kelso Dunes. Pleasant night temperatures masked the blistering temperatures in this desolate area during the long summer days, though thankfully we rolled in after dark for a great night's sleep on the way from Southern California out to Grand Canyon National Park.
