The Totensee is a small natural lake in the Swiss Alps in the canton of Valais at 2,160 meters above sea level on Grimsel Pass, it is the cantonal boundary between the canton of Valais and the canton of Bern.
The circular trail with 2.9 kilometers is mainly used for walking, jogging and bird watching and is used from April to October.
The name derives from the fact that during the Napoleonic Wars, the soldiers of Duke Berchtold V of Zähringen were taken and pushed into the lake by the people of Valais in the 13th century.
