About BrooklynAtlantis

We are a team of scientists and engineers seeking to support and learn from the cleaning of the Gowanus Canal in Brooklyn, NY. We designed and built an Aquatic Robotic Vehicle (ARV) which is placed in the canal, collects sensor data (such as water quality) and takes pictures both below and above the water level. We are currently testing an automated panoramic rig, which allows us to create the panoramas shown on our account. We are aiming to implement a panoramic interface on our citizen science website, where YOU, our citizen scientists, come into play. We need help tagging all of the images that our ARV collects, whether it is a fish, a rock, or an unidentified object. The aggregate data will help us study the conditions at the canal in different places and over time.
