Professor and academic of the Electrical Engineering Department of the UA (since 1999), Master in Energy Development and Doctorate in Solar Energy of the same institution. Director of the Antofagasta Energy Development Center. Line Director of Solar Energy Research Center (SERCChile ) from 2017 to date.  Among his relevant activities are being: Executive Director of the Consortium ATAMOSTEC: Research and Development Program for High Radiation Photovoltaic Technologies and Desert Climates" (2017-2021). Member of the Advisory Committee Energia2050 (2016) and of the new energy policy of Chile to 2050 (2021). Member of the technical council of Corfo's solar committee (2016). Technical advisor to the energy cluster of the Antofagasta Region (2021) and Member of the strategic committee of the ATAMOSTEC consortium (2021 to date).
