21 Mound Of Glory In Grodno
Belarus

Mound Of Glory. In the late 60-ies in Grodno mound of Glory appeared. His bookmark was made on 17 September 1968, and the Grand opening was held on 17 September 1969. On the Eastern outskirts of the city near the Avenue of Cosmonauts was Privatna the land from all districts of the Grodno region, mass graves of red Army soldiers and partisans, the graves of Heroes of the Soviet Union, buried on the territory of the Grodno region. Sypan it was in honor of those killed in the October revolution and the Civil war, in the struggle for the reunification of Western Byelorussia with the Byelorussian SSR, Soviet soldiers and partisans who gave their lives in the great Patriotic war. The mound has the shape of a truncated cone with a height of 18 m, a base diameter of 56 m, 5m. verhnei part of the mound banded concrete monolithic ring z exterior stucco cladding. On the East side of the Mound – the area for meetings, to the left is the Eternal flame, right side – plate with a commemorative inscription. The Mound are two wide staircases. In April 1974 near Barrow laid the alley of Heroes.
