Avebury Stone, Avebury, Wiltshire
England

Originally erected about 4,500 years ago during the Bronze Age, the Avebury Stone Circle, despite having a fraction of its original stones, remains the largest in the world and one of the most impressive henges in the British Isles.

Lying in the heart of the Wiltshire Downs the neolithic World Heritage Site also features earthworks that include a rampart, ditch and ancient avenues which are as mysterious as nearby Stonehenge.
