Panorama of the Grampians National Park visitor centre and the Brambuk Cultural Centre, Halls Gap, Victoria, Australia.
The new entry building of the National Park visitor centre from 2006 was designed by architect Wendy Hastrich. The building houses an information centre, a souvenir kiosk, a bush food cafe and interactive information displays.
The Brambuk Cultural Centre from 1990 was designed by architect Gregory Burgess, with Brambuk meaning white cockatoo. The design reflects totems of the 5 Koori communities with historical links to Gariwerd aka Grampians. The curved roof references the surrounding ranges and the wing shape of the cockatoo. The building houses a small dreamtime theatre, a craft room for boomerang painting and displays about the impact of European colonisation on the traditional owners of the land.
