Brambuk Cultural Centre in Halls Gap
Grampians National Park

Panorama of the Brambuk Cultural Centre in Halls Gap, Victoria, Australia. The Brambuk Cultural Centre from 1990 was designed by architect Gregory Burgess, with Brambuk meaning white cockatoo. The design reflects totems of the 5 Koori communities with historical links to Gariwerd aka Grampians. The curved roof references the surrounding ranges and the wing shape of the cockatoo. The building houses a small dreamtime theatre, a craft room for boomerang painting and displays about the impact of European colonisation on the traditional owners of the land.
