The Path Turmero-Chuao is a very visited one by hikers of Venezuela, it goes through large part of the Henry Pittier National Park forest and goes from the village of Turmero to the coastal village of Chuao, since it has no other land access, for this reason, the route has been used since colonial times to transport goods and cocoa, becoming known as "La Ruta del Cacao" ("The Cocoa Route") 

Throughout the course of the Chuao river and its tributaries, waterfalls are small and have become entertainment venues for camping and climbing and are visited in any season.
