Goat Falls is located near the outlet of Goat Lake at the northern end of the Sawtooth National Wilderness. It is about a 4 mile hike from the nearest trailhead at Iron Creek Campground and the hike has a total elevation climb of 1300 feet, notably about 400 feet of it the last quarter mile. The trail is well worn, other than the last eighth of a mile where it breaks into a steep scamper in the rocks. The falls sit at an elevation of about 8000 feet and are snow covered most of the year. This image was taken September 15, 2011. Access to the falls in non-snowy conditions is typically from August to October.
