When there has been a lot of rain in Germany and/or a lot of melting water from the Alps, the water level in the river IJssel in the Netherlands rises and the floodplains are partly submerged. It most frequently happens in winter, but was also the case in the summer (June) of 2016. This aerial panorama was captured by drone.
