Jose Marti Square 3, Cienfuegos, Cuba
Cuba

Cienfuegos,Cuba was founded in the year one thousand eight hundred nineteenth, by a French officer in the service of the Spanish Crown, colonel of infantry Loius'a de Clouet with New Orleans and forty-six immigrants from Bordeaux. Among the first settlers joined the colonists fled from Haiti, and later, the French refugees from Louisiana, which Napoleon decided to sell the United States in eighteen hundred third year.

Due to the French origins of the founder, the city is a bit special. You can see there a strong influence of French culture, even in architecture, in the modern system of streets and buildings so characteristic of France at the end of the nineteenth century.

Cien Fuegos is called the Pearl of the South , or the city of One Hundred Fires (Hundred Fires in translation Cien Fuegos).
