The monument of Mount Okoltchiza commemorates Hristo Botev and those who fell for the freedom and independence of Bulgaria. Each year on June 2, hundreds of people attend the national celebrations at the monument. This is an areal photo taken minutes after the air raid sirens had sounded. They sound annually throughout the territory of Bulgaria to mark the national commemoration.
