The Port Hercule is the largest and most important port in Monaco in the district of La Condamine. This port has approximately 16 hectares and has a capacity for almost 700 boats.
The port was rebuilt and modernized from 1910 onwards by Prince Albert I, through successive additions of protective dykes - jetties. A large 352 m and 160,000 ton semi-floating dike project was undertaken by Prince Rainier III in the 1970s, built in Gibraltar, then towed and connected to the harbor in 2002 to accommodate cruise ships as well as around twenty yachts from 35 to 60 m, and two mega-yachts.
Porto Hercule hosts, among others, the Yacht Club de Monaco, the Automobile Club de Monaco and the Stade Nautique Rainier III.
