The capital of Ecuador, Quito is located right by the foot of volcano Picchincha the twin peaks of which Rucu Pichincha ( 4,861 m ) and Guagua Picchincha ( 4,784 m ) both dominate the skyline of this highland city.
On my second day in the capital, I took the amazing cable car to take me from 3,117 m to 3,945 m a.s.l. to start my hike to the dormant peak which is Rucu Pichincha.
