A week in Zion National Park is just enough time to realize you really need to spend more time... While the drive through the park on Route 9 takes maybe 30 minutes, the myriad trails could consume weeks if not months of hiking.
The Emerald Pools trail is a fairly easy hike, making it a great starting point, especially if you are new to hiking. After crossing over the Virgin River, which carved out the canyon, you gradually work your way up and around until you are standing beheath a waterall. The rock wall extends up and over your head, shielding you from the water above, giving a view out across a small valley through the waterfall.
Many panoramas of Zion National Park's trails, views, canyons, and peaks. Zion National Park is known for it large exposure of the Navajo sandstone's steep red walled cliffs and world classic canyons and canyoneering routes.
