The Veliki Šumik Waterfall is 24 m high. Water falls down the incline of 43 degrees. Nevertheless, the waterfall wideness and vast quantity of water make it very picturesque. The waterfall is a result of the tectonics processes and different resistance of the granodiorite rock. The rocks over the waterfall hide the habitats of a rusty-leaved alpine rose (Rhododendron ferrugineum l.) and a very particular saxifraga. The Veliki Šumik is our largest waterfall on the non-limestone ground and a habitat of rare and endangered vegetation species.
