Akopan Tepui: Kai-Vonok Viewpoint, Canaima National Park (Venezuela)
Venezuela

Akopan (also spelled Acopan) is a giant Tepui (flat-topped plateau with steep drops) that belongs to the massif of Chimanta in Venezuelan state of Bolivar. Composed mainly of sandstone, rises to 2100 meters and has become a major point for climbing in the area. The tepui is a kind of inverted "u" in the middle of which born and descends the Yunek river, which also serves as the way of ascent to the summit without the use of climbing equipment.

Very close to the High Camp or Kai-Vonok (Star in Pemon language) is this viewpoint, like nest for Amuchima (harpy eagle of the local mythology, which would be so great that could take people to devour them in their nest) and from which contemplates the immensity of the giant rock in its entirety.
