胡宗宪：
胡宗宪，字汝贞，号梅林，明朝嘉靖年间的抗倭名将，官拜兵部尚书衔任浙江、福建总督。胡宗宪是将钓鱼岛划归中国领土的第一人。明黄帝神宗，谥号之“襄懋”。1526年，浙江提督胡宗宪编纂的《筹海图编》，书中“图以志形胜，编以记经略”，有地图114幅，约26万字。在“沿海山沙图”，标明了中国福建省罗源县、宁德县沿海各岛，其中就有“钓鱼岛”、“黄尾岛”和“赤屿”等岛屿。
