The Winkelried monument is situated on the town hall square in Stans and is dedicated to the courageous hero who fought in the bloody Battle of Sempach in 1386 and who, through the sacrifice of his own life, converted the battle into a victory for the Swiss Army.

O monumento Winkelried está situado na praça da Câmara Municipal de Stans e é dedicado ao corajoso herói que lutou na sangrenta Batalha de Sempach em 1386 e que, através do sacrifício da sua própria vida, converteu a batalha numa vitória para o exército suíço.
