Amongst the many strange buildings at Dungeness is the remains of a facility that was built to research and test experimental navigational radar and signal equipment, including a unique electric loudspeaker foghorn.
Dungeness is a large headland jutting out into the English Channel from the Kent coast. The unique landscape of low-lying shingle is classified as a desert and is designated a Site of Special Scientific Interest. As if that wasn't surreal enough the area is peppered with dozens of small dwellings, lighthouses and a nuclear power station.
