Dajue Temple, also known as "Cuipingyan Temple," was founded by the Tainan Prefect Jiang Yuanxun in 1688. With more than 300 years of history, it is the most famous temple in the greater Kaohsiung area. Located at the beautiful Guan-Yin Mountain in Dashe District, its front hall is the Mahavira Hall where Sakyamuni Buddha is worshipped. The Bodhisattva is worshipped in the back with 24 heavenly guardians at its front and back. On both sides, there are 12 other solemn distinguished Buddha sculptures including Samantabhadra.
