This is the view about 8,000 ft. in elevation at two miles and 2,000 ft. above Timerline Lodge on the south face of Mt. Hood. The lodge can be seen faintly at the bottom of the mountain slope. Mt Jefferson can also be seen just behind it as you look south down the cascades. The closest lake you can see to the south is Trillium Lake, Lost Lake is behind it. This was a busy Thursday. There are many skiers on the Palmer glacier (snow field). You can see the ski lifts to the east. This a fun hike 2 mile up and 2,000 vertical feet. FYI: Mt. Hood at 11,250 ft. is still an active volcano.
