Founded in 1873, the Musical Society New Dawn was the first music band of Macaé. One of its distinguished musicians was Benedito Lacerda, instrumentalist, composer and conductor. Born in 1903 in Macaé, Lacerda learned to play the flute alone, at eight years old, and joined the Young Musical Company New Dawn. The band is installed in a building of eclectic style, with garden and a female sculpture at the entrance.
