A lot can be learned about Orkney's natural history from the Natural History department of the Stromness Museum.

When the Stromness Antiquarian Society set up the Stromness Museum it was the done thing to stuff and mount examples of the local wildlife so there are plenty of examples to see. There are also some displays of the social history of Orkney and a cast of a leathery turtle caught in Orkney waters.
