Birds such as the Taiwanese Blue Magpie, Taiwanese Whistling Thrush, and Yellow-Throat Minivet are fascinating.

Cinclus pallasii can often be seen on stones at the side of the river, their tail plumage moving up and down as they suddenly dive into the water looking for food.
