淡水金色水岸自行車道」，路線可從捷運竹圍站旁的竹圍碼頭，沿著河濱公園，騎經紅樹林自然保留區、淡水老街、淡水渡船頭、榕堤、漁人碼頭至淡海新市鎮，還可過關渡大橋至八里，可欣賞馳騁於藍色公路上的觀光渡輪。

本區由水筆仔、彈塗魚、招潮蟹、水鳥等構成了典型的河口生態系。植物資源方面，以水筆仔為主要樹種。無脊椎動物種類較少，但數量卻非常可觀，退潮時於泥灘地可見許多招潮蟹和彈塗魚在此活動。
