A natural spring in the northwest part of Lake Mead National Recreation area, it has been planted with non-native fan and date palms. The reliable water source creates a long narrow riparian area down the slope towards the reservoir. The groundwater is thought to originate in high mountains 250 miles (400 km) to the north.
