Ruins of the Abbot's Hall at Haughmond Abbey, Shropshire
England

The extensive remains of a wealthy Augustinian abbey founded in 1135 by the FitzAlan family, Lords of Oswestry and Clun. The ruins include a substantially surviving chapter house, with elaborate carving and statuary, the abbots’ residence, refectory and cloister.

The abbey was dissolved in 1539. While the Abbott's Hall and other buildings around the cloister were converted into a private accommodation, much of the church and other buildings were demolished for their stone.
