14 km north of the Styrian capital Graz is the 1,445 m high Schöckl. Due to inversion weather conditions, it is not uncommon for fog to lie in the valley and the sun to shine on the summit. In both summer and winter, the Schöckl is popular with Graz residents and tourists for excursions.
