There is a lot to see here. Portland, Oregon has a nickname "Tree City". Mybe this pamorama explains that moniker. Downtown Portland is visible with the few skyscrapers down river on the Willamette to the north. Just to the east of that is the large Ross Island. above Ross Island Mount Saint Helens can be seen (it erupted in 1980). To the East (right) on the horizon is Mount Hood. In front of Mount Hood you see Oaks Bottom slough and wildlife refuge. On the river in front of that is the 118 year old Oak Amusement Park. To the right of that and south is the new Sellwood Bridge. Directly below is the areas largest boat launch, Willamette Park. I grew up in Portland and each square inch of this photo is so very familiar to me and brings up so many stories from my 60 plus years. Portland has a lot of problems but is is still a an exciting and beautiful city.
