Point Roadknight Lookout
Victoria

Located above Pt Roadknight near Anglesea, this lookout provides panoramic views of the rugged cliffs, ocean and Anglesea township along the scenic Great Ocean Road,

it also commemorates the running aground of the cargo ship SS Inverlochy on 19 Dec 1902. The ship ran onto the Hereford Reef when it missed a tack out to sea.

All hands took to lifeboats and rowed to nearby Barwon Heads - no lives were lost. Its cargo of spirits, ales and stout possibly cheered up the locals.

This coastline has many shipwrecks due to the hostile sea conditions encountered in Bass Strait.
