The Ramakrishna Mission Vidyabhavan, Midnapore, was set up on 19th August, 1948 with the aim of giving a proper shape to some of the educational ideals of Swami Vivekananda. According to Swami Vivekananda, a balanced combination of secular and spiritual training constitutes the basic foundationof education. The Vidyabhavan pays special attention to the training of those aspect of a boy’s personality that would enable him to flower into ‘full-man’.
The Vidyabhavan is conducted by a Managing Cimmittee appointed by the Govorning body of the Ramakrishna Mission, Belur Nath, Howrah, (W.B.). The school is affiliated to the west Bengal Board of Secondary Education and West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education.
In this institution, the students come into close contact with their teachers and an attempt is made to impact an all-round training in an atmosphere of place, discipline and moral purity.
