Wildfig Forest at Sewefontein
South Africa

This stand of trees are one of the wonderful treasures I found in Bavianskloof in the Eastern Cape during my Fall Phototour in South Africa. These specific trees are in the region tof five to six hundred years old and seems to be of the species Ficus Capensis (The Cape Figtree). This stand is growing around several freshwater fountains. The farm where this stand of figtrees is located is called Sewefontein - litterally translatable to English as "Seven Fountains". Baviaanskloof is not only home to these wonderful trees, but also to other indigenous forest giants like Yellowwood trees (Podocarpus falcatus and Podocarpus Latifolius), White Stinkwood (Celtis Africana), Wild Alder (Nuxia Floribunda), Milkwood (Sideroxylon Inerme) and Red Alder (Cunonia Capensis). The man sitting down on the one end of the panorama is Patrick the caretaker and tourguide to this natural wonder. This panorama is part of a three-piece virtual tour I am busy working on at the time of publishing this.
