I am an English photographer working in Barcelona, for both Spanish and international clients such as MasterCard International, Qatar Airways, Generalitat de Catalunya, De Boer España and British Petrolium, amongst others.
In 2008 I shot a series of 360° Virtual Reality panoramas for Qatar Airways of the interiors of their A340 Airbus aircraft and First and Premium Class Terminals in Doha. I am also working on a five year project for the Department of Culture of the Catalan Government, shooting 360° VR interactive panoramas of all their important heritage sites, from Dali to Gaudi and from Roman ruins to Romanesque churches.
I Retired from the PAPD in 2000. Photography has been my obsession since my Navy days many years ago. It has kept me sane and traveling, and given me great enjoyment throughout the years. I put many photos in Panoramio so it was a simple progression to 360Cities. Now I have another excuse for a road trip...another spherical pano is just around the corner.
Simon has only recently taken to 360 spherical panoramas but brings with him 40 years' worth of photography endeavours having first shown an interest in the subject as a child. He's travelled all over the world visiting many incredible places, much of it during his military career, and in all this time his camera has never been far from his side.
Over the years he's continually strived to expand his photography knowledge and experience by testing himself with unfamiliar subject areas and new technologies. This is what keeps him fresh and gives him a hunger to do better each and every time.
Over time Simon has continued to upgrade his camera gear and more recently his processing software and now operates a full frame Canon 6D and 8-15mm fisheye lens, atop a Rollei panohead, a Neewer tripod levelling base and a Manfrotto Befree GT tripod. For post processing he's using an array of specialist software in order to achive the best possible results, in what can sometimes be a tricky stitching process, including Canon's Digital Photo Professional 4, PTGui, Affinity Photo and Adobe Photoshop.
Simon never goes far without his camera sling bag accompanying him and enjoys photography just as much now as he ever has. Suffice to say he hopes you enjoy the fruits of his labour.
