Panama

Panama: Casco Viejo a World Heritage close to the Panama Canal. Lots of interesting an colorful buildings, nice restaurants and a 1600-feeling when walking around. Very picturesque workshops, houses and inhabitants.

On this picture from left to right.

Originally The Prison of Chiriquí Point.
Presently occupied by the French Square (1922) and Las Bovedas “The Vaults”.
The white building was originally the Judicial Palace (1933) and now holds office of The National Institute of Culture.
The passage above the wall is now known as the General Esteban Huertas Promenade (1944).
At the end of it we see the ruins of the old Union Club (an elite social club) later taken over by the military and turned into the Military Troops Club. The large building is the Ministry of Government (1905), which is in conjunction to the pink building known as the National Theater (1903).

The tower is part of the San Francisco Church (1920). The building into the water, originally a convent for the church, was also the old La Salle School, now being renovated to hold offices for the Ministry of Foreign Relations.
