凤县古称凤州，始建于秦朝，地处秦岭腹地、嘉陵江源头，陕、甘、川三省交汇之地，素有“秦岭明珠”的美誉和“秦蜀咽喉、汉北锁阴”之称。县城所在地双石铺镇，距宝鸡市区102公里。

全县总面积3187平方公里，人口11万，其中农业人口7.6万，辖10镇2乡100个行政村。

陕西，简称陕或秦，也称三秦，是中国的西北地区的一个省，省会西安，位于中国内陆腹地，属于黄河中游和长江上游，地处东经105°29′～111°15′，北纬31°42′～39°35′之间。东邻山西、河南，西连宁夏、甘肃，南抵四川、重庆、湖北，北接内蒙古，居于连接中国东、中部地区和西北、西南的重要位置。因在陕州（现为河南省陕县）以西，故称陕西。历史悠久，文化底蕴深厚。陕西在历史上较长时期一直简称为“秦”。
