The Piton Fougères (1.802 m) dominates the circus of Salazie. One recognizes Mare à Martin in the foreground and more in the south Grand-Ilet, overhung by Cimendef and the Roche Ecrite. In the distance, the Grand Benare, the Gros Morne and and in south-east the Piton de la Fournaise. On the side sea, one guesses Saint-Denis behind the rampart of the Rivière des Pluies.
