The Ashridge estate is a large wooded area which now belongs to the National Trust and is very popular for walkers, mountain bikers, hikers and picknickers. In the center is a tall tower, the Bridgewater Monument, which can be climbed via a sprial staircase for extensive views of the surrounding countryside. The bluebells, a spring woodland flower shown in this panorama, are at their best in late April and Early May.
