Crkva Svete Marije

Lepterija is the most visited resort in Soko Banja, 2 km from the center. The most attractive route to the picnic is the path leading from the beach along the river Moravice Prefect. If you go to LEPTERIJA asphalt road, after riding approximately 500 feet, coming to the lookout point offering a beautiful view of the Lepteriju declared as exceptional landscape qualities, and is protected by law. There is also a restaurant "Lookout". If you extend the right, 1.5 miles from the restaurant, you get to a LEPTERIJA some 100 m before the excursion to the right is the church dedicated to the Birth of the Virgin. The church was built 2,001th Whatever. in place of the medieval church from the 14th century, which was destroyed in the battle for Sokograd between Muse and Sultan Bey Hamuz year 1413.



Only resort is beautifully decorated and perfect for day trip with tables and benches and machines for the game to children. If you cross the wooden bridge LEPTERIJA over Moravice, leads to the path that leads to the Virgin in the rock. This natural phenomenon is actually a hole in the rock shaped like a mother with a child. According to the legend in the rock that hid the Holy Virgin with Christ while fleeing from the Romans. It is believed that the Good Friday flowing white water of the stone which is thought to be curative. There are several legends related to Lepteriju. The most famous is the tragic love between Zupan and LEPTERIJA. According to tradition, the prefect was the son of master Vrmdžanskog nearby town, and Lepterija, daughter of the then ruler Sokograd. As Lepterijin Županov and father constantly fought for possession, their love could not be crowned by marriage. Therefore Lepterija Zupan and agree that it sneaks secret passage to the foot of the city, where they waited for the prefect to run away together. When her father learned that he ran strongly angry and sent his servants to chase the order that is executed when the find. When the posse arrived fugitives Lepteriju executed, and the Prefect of the deepest sorrow jumped vir Moravice. And so today clearing at the foot Sokograd Lepterija called a vortex (now the beach) - Zupan. Another legend says that the name comes from Lepterija Elefteria Greek word meaning freedom. Namely, Sokograd arose on the ruins of a Roman fortress and the Roman slaves were free of his brief moments spent in a clearing just at the foot of the fortress, and was therefore called Lepterija, in translation-Slobodiste.
 

If you go to LEPTERIJA footpath next to the beach Prefect, or the hotel Moravice, somewhere in the middle of the road branches off the path that leads to the top Popovic (443 m). With which one can enjoy magnificent views of the Sokograd, Lepteriju, hill Janior, Soko, and Rtanj Blendija valley towards the village.
