View of the intersection of Graanmarkt and Stokstraat across from the Maas river.  The Stokstraat is an exclusive pedestrian shopping street lined with restored houses from the 17th and 18th century.  Here you can also see the back of the Onze Lieve Vrouwebasiliek, the oldest monument in Maastricht.  Dating back to 1100, archeological excavations have revealed that the church was built on or near the remains of a Roman temple.
