海口崖州古城,前身是一座关帝庙，据说还是海南最大的关帝庙。1993年翻修时一河北投资商耗费巨资，在关帝庙的基础上将其规模扩建至现状，除了大殿外，还建设了地宫，仿制了阎罗王、鬼判官等神话人物。但由于游客减少、经营不善等原因，旅游部门1997年开始停止了其景点资格。没有了经济来源的海口崖州古城更加冷清，自从在2005年2月的一场大火之后，到这里参观的人减少。
