鐘亭內懸掛一鐘，響銅所鑄，高約一公尺半，直徑八十公分，重約四百公斤，係由十位雲門及佛教弟子共同捐贈；響鐘外鑄有　曉雲導師所寫的鐘銘：「聞鐘聲，煩惱輕，智慧長，菩提生，離地嶽，出火坑，願成佛，渡眾生。唵伽囉諦耶娑婆呵。願此鐘聲超法界，鐵圍幽暗悉皆聞，聞塵清靜証圓通，一切眾生成正覺。鐘聲醒塵夢。」暮鼓晨鐘能令人當下覺醒，餘音在山中低沉迴盪，一切凡塵瑣事，案牘勞形，頓然消失在清涼山風中。曉雲導師親書「鐘聲醒塵夢」，嵌在石上，佇立於鐘亭右側，鮮紅字體，著實令人當下覺醒。
