在五明樓前方，心鏡湖悠然在目，湖水粼粼，草木萋萋，倒映著含笑的青山，山水相融，漫步其間，更有一份寧謐。心鏡湖具有滯洪沉沙的功用，因坡地開發後，地表逕流增加，應有滯洪池蓄積；在排水過程中，為考量水流沖刷所夾帶的泥沙，土石需於流出區外前，先經沉沙設施予以攔截或沉積，以保護下游地區。
