It was the last and highest pass of our trip through the Cordillera Huayhuash in the Peruvian Andes. This still feels like true wilderness. I kept wondering if the peaks around us have been climbed already. Some have - as our guide told me. They require a bit more committment than the peaks in Europe though - no trains or cable cars here for sure. And that's exactly what makes this place so special: no road, no house and no people except for my group as far as I can see. I feel small amidst those impressive mountains. And strangely alive and free. As if they were giving me the energy for whatever is to come.
