Le petit JARD à Châlons-en-Champagne

This garden style Napoleon III was built in 1861 for a regional agriculture. In 1938, he hosts a public arboretum. The prefect attributes this botanical garden in the society of agriculture, commerce, science and arts of the Marne for experiments acclimation of plants. 200 species of trees and shrubs waiting for you: bald cypress, paulownia ...



Four statues stand guard over the garden. They represent the four seasons. They are the work of Carlos Carillo, sculptor Châlons. It sees the small Chenonceaux ", the ancient castle of the market, built on the deck of Archers. It is a vestige of the fortifications of the city. South facade, with a turret in encorbellement, was rebuilt in 1602.
