明聖宮朔其主神關聖帝君之金尊由來，係分靈自宜蘭礁溪協天廟，本地先賢林聯禎原為礁溪協天廟元老，距今七十餘年前（約民國十餘年）自大陸福建分靈關帝金身，駐蹕礁溪，台灣光復後，民國三十五年，以九份盛產金礦，掘金人潮分湧而至，繁榮一時，酣熱持續不退，是時九份居民大都外地遷入而居，亟需建立精神信仰中心，林聯禎等人遂與協天廟情商，虔誠叩請關聖帝君二帝坐鎮九份，恭稱協天大帝，庇佑廣大善信。
