一般認為神農大帝是農業的守護神，卻在採金為主的鑛山發揚光大，常常讓人不解。主要原因是扶鸞替信徒消災解厄頗多靈驗，曾出現許多神蹟，常常轟動鑛區。昔日有人奉旨採集藥草提煉製作成丹丸供人求神治病，但今日為符合相關法規，就不再製作這些丹丸了，然而虔誠信徒仍然眾多。
