高屏溪自然生態文化園區位於高屏溪斜張橋下的高灘地，第一期工程於2006年完工，面積約30公頃，主要設施有斜張橋下廣場特區、天台明鏡廣場、步道、停車場等，園區內的天臺明鏡廣場極具特色，石板鐫刻佛教心經經文，並引溪水流進廣場迴流，形成另類特殊的親水設施。區內遍覆植栽綠草，可見佛陀紀念館及斜張橋，視野遼闊、一覽無遺，兼具生態保育及休閒遊憩之功能，也保留原有的高灘地景觀面貌。
