高雄市皮影戲館位於岡山區，園區面積達1,150平方公尺，是全國第2座傳統戲曲博物館，也是本土珍貴的文化資產。於1994年落成啟用，設有主題館、特展區、傳習教室、展演劇場等，可稱得上是全國設備一流的戲曲專業館，滿足觀眾對皮影戲的好奇與認知，可親身體會傳統技藝的真實面貌和迷人內涵，具有源遠流長文化傳承的歷史意義。
